Data protection

Data protection – security and protection on the Internet

The topic of data protection and security often gives rise to uncertainty and questions when using online services. We would like to counter this with the greatest possible transparency and explain to you in detail here the extent to which data is collected when you use our website and the purpose for which this data is used.

  1. What is personal data?

Personal data is information about the personal or factual circumstances of an identifiable or specific natural person. Personal data includes, for example, your name, your address and your telephone number.

Information that cannot be directly or indirectly linked to you, such as the number of users of a page or the popularity of individual web pages, is not personal data. This anonymised data is used exclusively for statistical purposes and to optimise the website.

  1. Processing and use of personal data

When you use our website, the web servers store connection data of the requesting computer, the websites you visit, the date and duration of the visit, the identification data of the browser and operating system type used and the website from which you visit us as standard for the purpose of system security.

This data is stored in anonymised form so that the creation of personal user profiles is excluded.

  1. Collection and handling of personal data

If you use the order option on our website, we require the following data for the purpose of order processing:

  • Salutation
  • First name, surname
  • Address data (sending of invoice and delivery of the goods)
  • Telephone number of the contact person (to contact them at short notice in the event of changes)
  • E-mail address (sending summary of order data)
  • Credit card details in the case of payment by credit card

         4. Use of Cookies

When you visit our website, information may be stored on your computer in the form of cookies, for example to recognise visitor preferences and optimise the design of the website accordingly. This helps us, for example, to make navigation easier and to achieve a high level of user-friendliness.

Cookies are text files that are stored on the user’s hard drive when they visit a website. They are harmless to your computer and cannot be viewed by third parties. They make it possible to store information for a certain period of time and to identify the user’s computer.

If you accept our cookies, they will remain on your computer for a period of 30 days unless you delete them beforehand. During an online order, cookies are temporarily stored for the duration of the booking. These are automatically deleted after 30 minutes of inactivity or after closing the website.

You can object to the collection and storage of your data via this service at any time. If you wish to avoid the activation of cookies, deactivate them in your browser. Please note, however, that disabling cookies may restrict the use of the website and the services offered.

    1. Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (hereinafter “Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies, which are stored on your computer and enable your use of this website to be analysed. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

We would like to point out that on this website Google Analytics has been extended by the code “gat._anonymizeIp();” in order to ensure anonymised collection of IP addresses (so-called IP masking). If IP anonymisation is activated on our websites, your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area beforehand.

Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Google will use this information for the purpose of analysing your use of our website, compiling reports on website activity for us and providing us with other services relating to website activity and internet usage.

The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data. A transfer of this data by Google to third parties only takes place on the basis of legal regulations or in the context of order data processing. Under no circumstances will Google combine your data with other data collected by Google.

By using this website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google and the manner of data processing described above as well as the stated purpose. You can prevent the storage of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly. You can also prevent the collection and processing by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

Further information on terms of use and data protection can be found at http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html or at https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/.

    1. Use of social plugins

    a) Privacy policy for the use of Facebook

Plugins of the social network Facebook, 1601  South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA are integrated on our pages. You can recognise the  Facebook plugins by the Facebook logo or the  “Like button” (“Like”) on our site. An  overview of the Facebook plugins can be found here:  http://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/.

When you visit our pages, a direct connection is established between your browser and the Facebook server via the plugin. Facebook  thereby receives the information that you have visited our site  with your IP address. If you click the Facebook “Like button” while  you are logged into your Facebook account, you can link the content of our  pages to your Facebook profile. This allows Facebook to associate your visit to  our pages with your user account. We would like to point out that we  as the provider of the pages have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or  its use by Facebook. Further information on this can be found  in the facebook privacy policy at  https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/

If you do not  want Facebook to be able to associate your visit to our pages with your Facebook user account , please log out of your Facebook user account.

    b) Privacy policy for the use of Twitter

Functions of the Twitter service are integrated on our pages  These functions are offered by Twitter Inc, 795 Folsom St., Suite  600, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. By using Twitter and the  “Re-Tweet” function, the websites you visit are linked to  your Twitter account and made known to other users. This  includes data such as IP address, browser type, domains accessed, pages visited  mobile phone providers, device and application IDs and search terms transmitted to  Twitter.

We would like to point out that, as the provider of the pages, we have no knowledge  of the content of the transmitted data or its use by Twitter. Due to  ongoing updating of Twitter’s privacy policy, we refer to the  latest version at (http://twitter.com/privacy).

You can change your  privacy settings on Twitter in the account settings  at http://twitter.com/account/settings. If you have any questions, please contact  privacy@twitter.com.

    c) Privacy policy for the use of Google +

Our website uses so-called social plugins (“plugins”) of the social network Google+, which is operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). The plugins can be recognised, for example, by buttons with the “+1” symbol on a white or coloured background. An overview of the Google plugins and their appearance can be found here: https://developers.google.com/+/plugins

When you access a page on our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to Google’s servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted by Google directly to your browser and integrated into the page. Through the integration, Google receives the information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have a Google+ profile or are not currently logged in to Google+. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted directly from your browser to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
If you are logged in to Google+, Google can directly associate your visit to our website with your Google+ profile. If you interact with the plugins, for example by clicking the “+1” button, the corresponding information is also transmitted directly to a Google server and stored there. The information is also published on Google+ and displayed to your contacts there.

The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Google as well as your rights in this regard and setting options to protect your privacy can be found in Google’s data protection information: http://www.google.com/intl/de/+/policy/+1button.html

If you do not want Google to assign the data collected via our website directly to your profile on Google+, you must log out of Google+ before visiting our website. You can also completely prevent the loading of Google plugins with add-ons for your browser, e.g. with the script blocker “NoScript” (http://noscript.net/).

    d) Privacy policy for the use of Linkedin

Our website also uses the “share function” of the LinkedIn network. The provider is LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

If you click on the LinkedIn “Share button” (plug-in), you will be redirected to your user account in a separate browser window – provided you are logged into your LinkedIn user account – and can share the electronic publication stored on our website by adding a comment. The plug-in establishes a direct connection between your browser and the LinkedIn server. LinkedIn receives the information that you have visited our website with your IP address. In addition, LinkedIn is then able to assign your visit to our website to you and your user account.

We would like to point out that we have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted (personal) data or its use by LinkedIn. Further information on this can be found in LinkedIn’s privacy policy at: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.
LinkedIn is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement and thus offers a guarantee to comply with European data protection law (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000L0UZAA0&status=Active). Opt-Out: https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/guest-controls/retargeting-opt-out.

    e) Data protection provisions about YouTube

Social plugins (“plugins”) from YouTube are integrated on our website. YouTube is an Internet video portal that allows video publishers to post video clips free of charge and other users to view, rate and comment on them free of charge. YouTube allows the publication of all types of videos, which is why complete film and television programmes as well as music videos, trailers or videos made by users themselves can be accessed via the Internet portal.

The operating company of YouTube is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. YouTube, LLC is a subsidiary of Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043-1351, USA.
With each call-up to one of the individual pages of this website, which is operated by the controller and on which a YouTube component (YouTube video) was integrated, the Internet browser on the information technology system of the data subject is automatically prompted to download a display of the corresponding YouTube component of YouTube. Further information about YouTube can be found at under https://www.youtube.com/yt/about/de/. During the course of this technical procedure, YouTube and Google gain knowledge of what specific sub-page of our website was visited by the data subject.

If the data subject is logged in at the same time on YouTube, YouTube recognises with each call-up to a sub-page that contains a YouTube video, which specific sub-page of our website was visited by the data subject. This information is collected by YouTube and Google and assigned to the respective YouTube account of the data subject.

YouTube and Google always receive information via the YouTube component that the data subject has visited our website if the data subject is logged in to YouTube at the same time as accessing our website; this takes place regardless of whether the data subject clicks on a YouTube video or not. If the data subject does not want this information to be transmitted to YouTube and Google in this way, they can prevent the transmission by logging out of their YouTube account before accessing our website.

The data protection provisions published by YouTube, which can be accessed at https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/ , provide information about the collection, processing and use of personal data by YouTube and Google.

    f) Privacy policy for the use of Pinterest

On our website, we use social plugins from the social network Pinterest, which is operated by Pinterest Inc, 635 High Street, Palo Alto, CA, 94301, USA (“Pinterest”). When you visit a page that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to the Pinterest servers. The plugin transmits log data to the Pinterest server in the USA. This log data may contain your IP address, the address of the websites visited that also contain Pinterest functions, the type and settings of the browser, the date and time of the request, your use of Pinterest and cookies.

Further information on the purpose, scope and further processing and use of the data by Pinterest as well as your rights and options for protecting your privacy can be found in Pinterest’s privacy policy: https://about.pinterest.com/de/privacy-policy

    g) Privacy policy for the use of Instagram

Functions of the Instagram service are integrated on our pages. These functions are offered by Instagram Inc., 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA, 94025, USA. If you are logged into your Instagram account, you can link the content of our pages to your Instagram profile by clicking on the Instagram button. This allows Instagram to associate your visit to our pages with your user account. We would like to point out that, as the provider of the pages, we have no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted or its use by Instagram.

Further information on this can be found in Instagram’s privacy policy: http://instagram.com/about/legal/privacy/

The data will not be passed on to uninvolved third parties. This does not apply if we are obliged to disclose and transmit the data by law or by court judgement.

    1. Right of cancellation and inspection
